Congratulations on Loneliness, it's a wicked track. Where did the
inspiration for the track come from? |
| Tomcraft: |
ENIAC and I try to evolve every time we produce a new track- we always want to create something unique. last year we were working on our album *muc* when the melody for loneliness came to our minds and if you have the right melody its easy. One thing leads to another - its pure fun. And believe me we had lots of fun and lots of vodka lemons during the 10 days and nights we were working on it.
The lyrics are taken from an 20 year old track called *share the love* by andrea martin. I bought the vinyl in a second hand store - there was an accapella on it. Unfortunatelly we had to get the vocal re-sung as andrea martin didn´t want to co-operate with a dance producer |

How do you feel about being compared to "Depeche Mode meets Kernkraft
400"? |
| Tomcraft: |
I honestly have no idea what *loneliness* has got to do with *kernkraft 400*. . It isn´t that I don´t appreciate Zombienations work but hey? Zombienation are also 2 guys from munich that´s the only thing they and we have in common. And we both like to use tough synthies in our productions. Whatever… I feel very honored about being compared with depeche mode. Both ENIAC and I used to be the biggest depeche mode fans and they have definitely had their influence on our productions.

The track has been around for a while. What made you decide to
release it in the UK now? |
| Tomcraft: |
Its hard for a german producer to get into the uk market. We´ve been trying a long time now - Loneliness is my 21st single release already. if it had been up to me the track would have been released simultaneously there. But this is not how music business works.
The vinyl had sold massively on import and there was a hugh buzz on it on the uk underground scene. and from there it completely took off - Kosmo Records had already been negotiating with various uk companies when judge jules played it on new years eve. From that day on, all the uk a&r scene got nervous. Kosmo records got flooded with licensing offers and here we are now.

Is there anything deep and meaningful about the lyric in the track? |
| Tomcraft: |
You´d better ask andrea martin I think its up to everybody who listens to the lyrics to decide what it means to them…

| Beatz: |
How did you chose the mixes for the single release in the UK?
|
| Tomcraft: |
Tillmann Uhrmacher is a close friend of mine and a great producer. and Benny benassis *satisfaction* is one of my favorite tracks. We wanted to have remixers that fit in with my sound and attitude and we found them. There were people who told us we had to do a more commercial remix but we wanted to stay cool. If we sell less cds because of this decisinon I won´t bother at all!

Will we be seeing an album from you in the future?
|
| Tomcraft: |
My album *MUC* is already released in germany - uk release will hopefully follow soon. *MUC* is the short form for Munich Airport - its dedicated to my hometown. Watch out for this album - its amazing!

Favourite place to DJ?
|
| Tomcraft: |
MAYDAY is always a sensation 15.000 people raving in front of the dj stage… its… wow- Nikkita in san francisco is great as well - last time I played there the crowd was screaming so loud that I couldn't ear the monitor amp anymore

I think Loneliness is fresh and something the dance scene needs to lift it up. Do you think the dance music scene is dying?
|
| Tomcraft: |
No way! There will always be maniacs and newcommers with fresh styles and sounds to lift it up again! And also the old, experienced djs and producers are changing styles, evolving - take Taucher as an example - he used to play and produce trance only; if you hear him playing nowadays or listen to his new productions you will realize how much he has changed! We are all passionate and devoted to this music and lifestyle. And so are the clubbers

What's your thoughts on Madonna's attempts to stop Internet piracy (she flooded the file sharing networks with fake tracks and then had her website hacked in "revenge")?
|
| Tomcraft: |
Didn´t know that she did this but she is so right - if you want us to go on producing you will have to contribute
