With a distinct Roc-A-Fella Dirty South sound comes the MC lyrical
skills of one Juelz Santana.
Santana is passionate about music and this comes across on this album.
Whether it's the single Mic Check or the addictive whistles on There It
Go, there's something here for every hip hop fan. Whether rapping with
his Dipstet crew or with his Dirty South homefolk (Young Jeezy, Lil
Flip, TI) Santana is providing a unique hip hop sound that is both fresh
and exciting.
You do tend to listen expecting Jay-Z to cut in and start a guest rap as
there is an element of his Roc-A-Fella sound on these tracks, but
actually it has a feel of Dre and the early gfunk Death Row days, not
because it has that west coast gfunk sound but because it is a
revolutionary Dirty South sound offering a funkier sound with Santana's
deep vocal that works really well.
